Objective Based Reports
There are two new reports in the Reports dropdown:
The objective based reports are available for Soft Skills Courseware, Soft Skills Assessment, and Digital Skills Assessment only. The reports display mastery by learning objectives.
The summary report shows the number of students in the selected organization who have mastered | not mastered the objectives in the selected date range for the selected Objective Groups(s).
In this example, 17 learners mastered the objective “Effective listening, speaking, writing,” and 45 learners did not master the objective in the Soft Skills Courseware. In the Soft Skills Assessment, 5 learners mastered the objective and 1 did not.
The report is organized by organization, objective group, content category, and learning objective.
The individual report shows the individual’s mastered | not mastered performance per objective in the courseware and/or assessment. In this example Rinoa did not master the objective “Effective listening, speaking, and writing” in the Soft Skills Courseware module Communicating Effectively, but she did master the other objectives in the courseware module and she mastered all of the objectives in the assessment.
Rinoa can remediate this objective by going to the Soft Skills Courseware product and reviewing Communicating Effectively Lesson 1 as indicated in the course outline.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Objective based reports currently only report on Soft Skills Courseware and Soft Skills Assessment and Digital Skills Assessment. Digital Skills Courseware and Academic Skills Courseware and Assessments objective based data are coming soon.
- The Summary Objective Based report does not yet include links from the count to the list of students who make up the count. This linking is in development and coming soon.
- Key of icons
Not Mastered = The student was presented a question/set of questions aligned to the objective and either got the question wrong or skipped it.
Mastered = The student answered all questions aligned to the objective and answered them correctly.
Not Assessed = there are objectives that may be taught and assessed in the courseware but not assessed in the proctored assessment. This is currently true of Digital Skills Assessment. If a learning objective is not assessed the grey icon will be displayed.
Blank = The student did not take the assessment and therefore there is no data for the learning objective.
Login Page Update
The new login page features rotating images and announcements to help keep users informed about products and features.

Instructor and Administrator Home Page
Non-learners, such as instructors, proctors and administrators, will land on a new Home page once logged in. The new Home page features Quick Start Guides, Product Updates, and frequently accessed Resources. The Dashboard is still available by selecting Dashboard from the menu.
My Work Ready Updates
- My Work Ready participants now have access to a Getting Started video to orient them to the My Work Ready application. Clicking the link under “Today” will open a new tab with the 3 minute long video.
- The Career Plan text has been simplified to 8th grade readability to ensure accessibility to a wider audience.
- Question 5 on the initial survey has been updated to simplify the question to: “What are your job goals?”
- An “About” link has been added to the non-learner menu so that instructors and administrators can access Resources about My Work Ready.
- The My Work Ready Learner Listing Report now includes configured custom fields in the column chooser so that instructors and administrators can filter and report by custom field.
- A link to the new My Work Ready specific technical specifications has been added to the login page.
Miscellaneous
- Organization Admin filters persist so that any filters applied in the previous session will still be applied when the user returns. When filters are applied in Organization Admin, an alert will appear indicating that filters are applied with an option to clear them with one click. In addition, the filter icon in the filtered column will be blue to make clearer that the filter is applied.
- New Getting Started video for learners is available under the learner’s Resources dropdown.
- Ability to display the system message on the Learner Dashboard so that learners have access to it even if they login through SSO.
- The notification bell on the new menu header (available on the new Admin Home page and the newer Organization Management page) has some updated functionality. When a new message is available, the bell will show a red circle with the number of unread messages available for the user.
- When clicked, the user will see their notifications, with unread messages on top. The user can mark the message as read by clicking the blue envelope with the checkmark, or delete the message by clicking the trash can. The user can mark all messages as read by clicking Mark All As Read at the top of the notification window.
- Deauthorized organizations are hidden by default in all reports. Users may toggle to show deauthorized orgs.
Coming Soon – Academic Skills Courseware Refresh
Expected in August – Academic Skills Courseware is getting an upgrade!
We’ve added and enhanced content to align more deeply with O*NET job zones and work activity statements.
We’ve improved the learning experience with a more consistent instructional flow that follows the Gradual Release of Responsibility (GRR) instructional model I Do - We Do - You Do.
We’ve modernized the user experience by improving mobile responsiveness, navigation, and design.
See Academic Skills Courseware Refresh Product page for details.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Learners who have begun work in Academic Skills Courseware prior to the refresh will be placed at the beginning of the Level they were in.
For example, if a learner was in Work Ready Reading Level 3 Lesson 2, the learner will be placed back at Level 3 Lesson 1.
All lessons in the level are unlocked, so a learner is able to skip ahead if they don’t want to start at the beginning of the level.
Each level placement test will have anywhere from 6-14 questions per level based on the amount of content covered in the level. The level placement criteria is still <80%. In addition, the assessment will still end when a learner can not score at least 80%. However, because each level test has a variable number of questions, the number of questions wrong to place out will be variable.
Pretests have been removed from Academic Skills Courseware. Learners will take the placement test and once placed in a level they will begin with direct instruction.
Every ASC module now has a Glossary. Work Ready Math has a Formula Sheet and a Glossary, which includes Mathematical Key Words.
The text, images, interactives, and reading passages may present differently depending on device type/size. Users will see this screen when they launch a lesson:
Here are some examples:
On Android mobile phones, reading passages will be accessed via a button that opens the passage in a new view. Passages can be downloaded if desired.
*iPhones will display passages in a bilateral scrollable box as they do not support the pop out like Android does. Therefore, for Reading, it is recommended that learners use desktop, laptop, tablet (any) or Android phone devices for the best reading experience.
On desktop, laptop, and tablets, the passages will be present on the screen and fully scrollable. Users will also have the ability to pinch and zoom to see the passage larger if desired.
Some content is still be developed and will be released on a rolling bases as it is complete:
Spanish placement tests
Some Spanish graphics
Video content in Levels 4 and 5 of all modules
Image alt-tags
Additional practice engine items will be developed to create deeper pools more tightly aligned to the updated learning objectives
After completing the Practice questions, if learners click Practice to access more questions, they will be brought to the beginning of the lesson and will need to navigate to the Practice Engine. In a future release, they will be brought directly to the next set of Practice questions.
Known Issues
See Important Notes in the Academic Skills Courseware section.
As an admin reviewing the learner experience via “View Learner Experience,” there is no link to go back to Home. The link goes to the Admin Dashboard. That will be addressed in the next release.
The menu style changes depending on what screen the user is on. Menu consistency will be addressed in the next release.
Objective Based Reporting:
Objective based reports currently only report on Soft Skills Courseware and Soft Skills Assessment and Digital Skills Assessment. Digital Skills Courseware and Academic Skills Courseware and Assessments objective based data are coming soon.
The Summary Objective Based report does not yet include links from the count to the list of students who make up the count. This linking is in development and coming soon.
