The constantly evolving workforce is in need of students who have the professional employability and work habit skills. WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills blended curriculum is currently being used in Arizona, South Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida to build a stronger workforce and community.
Essential Soft Skills is a blended learning solution that helps learners develop and demonstrate attitudinal and behavioral skills that are essential to success in the workplace, school, and the community. These competencies are a key component of WIN’s comprehensive approach to preparing learners for success and providing future employers with workplace-ready Candidates.
Essential Soft Skills contains four modules; Communicating Effectively, Conveying Professionalism, Promoting Teamwork and Collaboration, and Thinking Critically and Solving Problems. Learners earn an eBadge when they complete the pretest, courseware, and posttest for each module. Learners must earn all four eBadges to earn a certificate of completion.
Essential Soft Skills offers over 50 hours of project-based classroom activities that allows students to demonstrate proficiency in the professional skills. Students can work together in groups and work at their own pace in the supplemental online instruction to continue to build upon their skills. Students' progress can be monitored through detailed reports built into the WIN Career Readiness System.

The Promoting Teamwork & Collaboration module in WIN Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes activities and assessments regarding Benefits and Challenges of Teamwork, Respecting Others, Defining Leadership, Setting Goals and Working With Others.
The Conveying Professionalism module of WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes a section on Work Ethic. Lessons and activities include learning the proper attitudes and behaviors in the workplace.
The Conveying Professionalism module in WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills courseware contains a section regarding Punctuality and Reliability in Action, as well as self-assessments regarding "Paired Reflection" and "Being Present on the Job".
The Conveying Professionalism module in WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills courseware includes activities and lessons dealing with scenarios related to Avoiding De-motivation, Setting Priorities, and other work habits.

There is also a project-based learning activity where learners work in a group to choose a leader and assign tasks to group members in order to create packaging and a logo for a new product and work together to promote the product.
The lessons within the Conveying Professionalism module of WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum include facilitated activities in Appearance, Work Ethic, Positive Attitude/Image, Motivation and Work Habits.
The Conveying Professionalism module in WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills courseware includes activities regarding Career Advancement, Recognizing Initiative, and Creating a Personal Action Plan.
The Thinking Critically and Solving Problems module in WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes lessons and activities in Creativity, Adaptability, Reasoning, and Problem Solving.
The Creativity exercises in the Thinking Critically & Problem-Solving module of WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes activities dealing with scenarios related to Creative Match, Metaphors and Thinkers, as well as cultivating and improving creativity. There is also a Creativity Self-Assessment and Brainstorming Activity.
The Communicating Effectively module in WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes activities involving Spoken Communication, Non-Verbal Communication, Email/Phone Etiquette, and Conflict Resolution Among Others. There is an offline Project Based Learning Activity with this module where the students learn to work as a team by determining the best way to communicate with employees about changes in their work benefits.
Students demonstrate their ability to problem solve and accomplish goals using digital technology for the web-based portion of WIN's Essential Soft Skills program while building their skills and earning the OhioMeansJobs® Readiness Seal.

Students can also work in groups to collaborate on the best practices for seeking out job opportunities and how to pursue them.
The Conveying Professionalism module of WIN Learning's Essential Soft Skills curriculum includes a Work Ethic section where students take a formative assessment titled The Importance of Reliability.
