WIN Learning Enhances Language Support for Courseware & Credentials

Kingston, Tennessee – 5/10/2022 – A new version of one of WIN Learning’s most popular products - Essential Soft Skills Courseware (ESSC) - has recently been released with additional language support, including Spanish language translations and enhancements for learners using screen reader technology. All text, graphics, quiz questions, and accessibility text for the modules are now available in English and Spanish, and the video transcripts have been translated for Spanish speakers and made available on the video slides.

"The most challenging thing about translating Essential Soft Skills to Spanish was that certain idiomatic expressions would not have the same meaning in Spanish,” said translator Michelle Gorritti. “One must really understand the culture or cultures behind the words when making the appropriate translation."

All WIN courses are equipped with text-to-speech audio and accessibility text that enable screen readers to read the content that is presented on each slide. Additional enhancements that have been released in ESSC for learners using screen reader technology include better navigation capabilities such as an improved tab order, better instructions for how to navigate quiz questions, inclusion of alt text on all images, and upgraded menus for reviewing previous lessons easily.

In addition to courseware improvements, the WIN Learning team has completed Spanish translations of the newest assessment forms for the battery of Work Ready Assessments, the Essential Soft Skills Assessment, and the Digital Literacy Assessment. Next up, the WIN Learning content authoring team will be applying the same level of language support to the Digital Literacy Courseware and enhancing the existing language and accessibility options within Work Ready Courseware.

Note: Spanish Assessments are only available as computer-based tests for states or organizations who allow Spanish-language testing.
