WIN Learning Collaborates with Partners for Education at Berea College to Prepare Students for Career Success

Kingston, Tennessee – 1/27/2022 – WIN Learning, a national leading developer of career readiness solutions, announced today that Partners for Education at Berea College has chosen WIN as the provider of career readiness courseware and resources to more than 20,000 students in Eastern and South Central Kentucky as part of the US Department of Education’s GEAR UP grant program.

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a grant administered by the US Department of Labor designed to provide low-income students with services to improve their academic skills and prepare them for success after high school. In collaboration with Partners for Education, WIN will meet the needs of Kentucky students by providing myStrategic Compass, a career exploration tool, and Essential Soft Skills Courseware to fourteen school districts across Eastern and South Central Kentucky. These resources help meet the Individualized Learning Plan and Essential Workplace Ethics mandates enacted by the Kentucky Department of Education.

myStrategic Compass is an interactive customizable career planning and exploration tool that provides students with a roadmap to success in whatever career they choose. myStrategic Compass helps students align their skills, interests, and goals with careers and provides detailed information about those careers such as job descriptions, wages, education and training requirements, job forecasts, and personal qualities needed to be successful. Students begin working in myStrategic Compass in 6th grade and continue through 12th grade.

Partners for Education is also utilizing WIN’s Essential Soft Skills Courseware, a blended learning solution that includes interactive online content and offline materials that teachers can use in the classroom. The courseware is comprised of four modules: Communicating Effectively, Conveying Professionalism, Promoting Teamwork and Collaboration, and Thinking Critically and Solving Problems. These subject areas align to the Kentucky Essential Workplace Ethics Indicators and ensure that students master the necessary attitudinal and behavioral skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

“The ongoing service and support that Partners for Education at Berea College provides the schools in South Central and Eastern Kentucky is incredible work,” said Steve Fain, Executive Vice President, Sales and Professional Services with WIN Learning. “We are honored to serve the middle and high schools throughout the region and help students plan for life after high school.”

WIN is excited to work with Partners for Education to help Kentucky students build their skills and excel in high school and beyond. To learn more about WIN Learning’s career readiness solutions, visit www.winlearning.com or contact info@winlearning.com.
