SOUTH CAROLINA ADMINISTERS 50,000 PLUS READY TO WORK ASSESSMENTS

Preparing Learners for Career Success

Kingston, Tennessee (October 3, 2018)— South Carolina has embarked on a statewide innovative approach to preparing learners for the careers and jobs that align to labor market demand. In partnership with WIN Learning, South Carolina has established Ready to Work credentials signed by the governor and administered to all eleventh-grade students and workforce centers to determine achievement in foundational academic readiness and essential soft skills including creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, and collaboration and teamwork, which are part of the “Profile of the South Carolina Graduate” framework.

WIN Learning, a national career readiness solutions provider and a leading publisher of next generation career readiness assessments, curriculum, and exploration tools, is providing a turn-key solution for administration, scoring, and reporting of career readiness skills and aptitudes assessments for the State of South Carolina.

The WIN solution includes a combination of four valid and reliable assessments that are aligned to state and national standards for career and college readiness. This will achieve both the state’s educational objectives as defined by the Education Accountability Act (Title 59, Chapter 18) and workforce development system objectives supporting career ready learners.

The WIN Learning assessments are being administered statewide, online, and in paper form, to approximately 70,000 students and adults annually beginning in spring 2018.
