Indiana Department of Workforce Development - Indiana Adult Education Launches Essential Soft Skills Credential

Kingston, Tennessee – June 16, 2021WIN Learning, a national leading developer of career readiness solutions, announced today that the statewide partnership with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development - Indiana Adult Education now includes the Essential Soft Skills Credential.

WIN Learning is excited to close the skills gap by partnering with the IN DWD - Indiana Adult Education to build and measure mastery of the essential soft skills needed in the workplace. The research-based Essential Soft Skills Courseware and proctored Essential Soft Skills Credential focus on the workforce competencies that employers from across industries have identified as critical for success in the workplace. These foundational skills are standard in several statewide partnerships around the nation. Many adult education providers include the Essential Soft Skills Credential with the WIN Career Readiness System in their Integrated Education and Training (IET) plan to support local and state workforce development.

“Indiana Department of Workforce Development-Indiana Adult Education has been a partner of WIN Learning for over a decade,” said Steve Fain, Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services with WIN Learning. “By adding the Essential Soft Skills Credential to their suite of WIN career readiness tools, Indiana joins states like Kentucky, Arizona, Florida, and South Carolina in offering a stackable credential to validate that the jobseeker has an understanding of the skills employers value most.”

The Essential Soft Skills Credential measures foundational skills such as cooperating with others, resolving conflict, solving problems and making decisions, observing critically, and taking responsibility for learning. Participants earn the Essential Soft Skills Credential when they complete the 60-minute proctored Essential Soft Skills Assessment with a scale score of 70 or greater. The credential is a valuable addition to their resume or portfolio and lets employers know that they have mastered the soft skills needed in the Indiana workforce.
