Credentials

Essential Soft Skills Credential

The Essential Soft Skills Credential is composed of questions measuring entry-level work tasks and behaviors, including Communicating Effectively, Conveying Professionalism, Promoting Teamwork & Collaboration, and Thinking Critically & Solving Problems. The assessment items present real workplace scenarios and require the learner to choose the “best” and “worst” answers for handling each situation.

Successfully passing the assessment and earning the credential shows that the job seeker has the interpersonal skills employers demand.

Work Ready Credential

The Work Ready Credential is a workforce education and development tool comprised of three proctored assessments: Work Ready Math, Work Ready Reading, and Work Ready Data. It brings employers, learners and job seekers, and education and workforce partners together in building a skilled workforce, while keeping and attracting businesses with higher-wage jobs and economic growth. Learners who successfully pass all three assessments receive a credential signed by the governor.

Digital Literacy Credential

The Digital Literacy Credential is based on the five foundational technology skills needed to succeed in the modern workplace: computer operations, internet browsing, digital communication, digital documents, and digital security. Upon earning the South Carolina Digital Literacy Credential, learners and job seekers can certify to employers that they have the skills and knowledge to perform the basic yet necessary computing tasks most commonly used in the workplace.

The Professional Skills Credential is a combination credential that is earned by passing both the Essential Soft Skills and Digital Literacy Assessments. Job seekers who earn the credential can show employers that they not only have the communication and problem-solving skills needed in the workplace, but they also have demonstrated mastery of common workplace technologies.
