WIN Career Readiness System Updates

About this Release

9/27/16

Version 1.5.0 of WIN Career Readiness System code was released to the production server on Thursday, September 27, 2016. The release supports the implementation of NWRC assessments.

NWRC clients will be able to select NWRC from the Dashboard or Courses menu, where they can choose to take a Practice version or Scored version of one of four assessments:

Screen Shot 2016-09-27 at 7.40.58 PM.png

The NWRC assessments make use of the Respondus Lock Down Browser which limits participant access to only the assessment application while taking the test.  The Practice Tests do not require Lock Down Browser use.

When a participant clicks on one of the four scored assessments, a screen appears which requires the proctor to log on before the participant can begin the assessment.  After the proctor logs on, the Lock Down Browser is initiated and will stay engaged until the student clicks FINISH after completing the test.  To begin another assessment, the same procedure has to be followed.

There is one “combo” report available for NWRC which combines the activity, eBadge and Certificate reports.  These reports support the “drill-down” feature available in our other CR System products. In this release, the report is available at the participant  and facilitator/proctor level only.  Future releases will provide a “combo” report for all levels in the hierarchy.

Known Issues

Reports are only available for participant/student and facilitator/teacher level.  The Admin level reports will be available in a future release.
The Activity portion of the dashboard does not display any data for NWRC
Currently there are no totals displayed on the NWRC reports.

About this Release

7/14/16

Version 1.4.0 of WIN Career Readiness System code was released to the production server on Thursday, July 14, 2016. The release includes a brand new myStrategic Compass.

Details

With this release, learners, facilitators and school level admin user types will have access to the new myStrategic Compass. These users will simply login to WINCRSystem.com with their username and password and select myStrategic Compass from either the Dashboard or Courses tab.

Learners will be brought directly to the Portfolio view, where they can take assessments, explore careers, occupations and employment and otherwise plan for their futures.

Facilitator and School Admins will be brought directly to the Site Administration dashboard where they can see portfolio information associated with users within their school/site. They can also run reports, set up parent accounts, create groups, and create and assign checklists and course planners.

The first time a learner accesses his/her portfolio he/she will be asked if it is ok or not to share their portfolio information with the school counselor. Once they make that selection they can begin. This only appears upon first access.

Known Issues

MySC Reports are not yet available in WIN CRSystem. Activity, Ebadge and Certificate Reports have not been created yet for the new myStrategic Compass. They have been temporarily removed from reports and the dashboard.

About this Release

Released 12/15/15

WIN CRS Version 1.3.0 release addresses the following:

A custom Soft Skills certificate for KYAE

Hyphenated names print accurately on certificates

WIN CRC Version 1.1.0 release addresses the following:

No Data Found error when taking CRC placement tests

When a user begins a placement test and exits without saving his/her progress the facilitator can reset the test. The user then begins the test again and has to exit before completing it. This time the user saves his/her progress. Upon returning to resume the test, the user received an error message. This has been addressed so that a user in this situation can resume the test without incident.

Flashing screen that occurred on 2 screens in CRC

Users were experiencing a flashing screen in Locating Information Level 6 posttest and Locating Information Level 1-Lesson 2 – Screen 3. This has been addressed. The screens no longer flash.

Fractions appearing too small to read in CRC Applied Mathematics

The fractions are now readable.

Corrected title bar for the Applied Mathematics posttest

The Applied Mathematics posttest title bar was reading Locating Information. It now reads Applied Mathematics as intended.

Known Issues

In Locating Information Level 1.2.3,  IF the user resets the answers, the continue button ceases to work and the user receives an error message. This only occurs if the user has “reset” the answers. If the user completes the question without resetting the answers and clicks Check Answers and then clicks continue, the “Continue” button works correctly.

Workarounds:

Rather than using the reset answers button, exit the level, reopen, and click Resume. Once the reset button is hit the user cannot access exercises 1.2.4, 1.2.5, 1.2.6, 1.2.7.

If the reset button is selected, the user can navigate to the beginning of the lesson, the next lesson, or the previous lesson using the CRC navigation but will not be able to access exercises 1.2.4, 1.2.5, 1.2.6, 1.2.7.

WIN Career Readiness System v1.1.6 Updates (8/2015)

About this Release

Version 1.1.6 of WIN Career Readiness System code was released to the production server on Monday, August 10, 2015.

Highlights of this release include:

Batch enrollmentBatch enrollment functionality was rebuilt to improve the user experience, including clearer instructions and improved processing and error handling.

Routine maintenance

Batch Enrollment

Batch enrollment functionality was rebuilt to improve the user experience, including clearer instructions and improved processing and error handling.

School Administrator logs into WIN CR System and selects Organization Administration.

Admin selects Batch Enroll and the template and instructions appear.

If there is more than one user type, an additional template will be provided.

Admin downloads the CSV template. The column headers are pre-populated with the required fields for that school.

Admin enters the user data as indicated in the template and then saves the file (keep as .csv)

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 2.23.21 PM.png

Admin chooses and uploads the completed file.

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 2.24.06 PM.png

The My Batch Processes bar pops down showing progress of the file upload. When complete, the Admin is presented with Cancel and Approve buttons. The process can be cancelled at this point and the users will not be enrolled. If the Admin clicks Approve, a message will appear that the enrollment has been approved for import and a notification will appear when the enrollees are available in the system. This only takes a few minutes.

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 2.29.07 PM.png

Once the enrollees are available in the system, the Admin can download a results report to get the list of enrollees and their credentials.

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 2.35.25 PM.png

In processing the initial upload, the My Batch Processes bar might indicate that there are errors in the file. At this point, the Admin can cancel the enrollment and review the file for errors, fix them and reupload those enrollees.

Alternately, the Admin can continue with the enrollment. In the result report generated at the end of the process the errors will be outlined in the Errors tab of the spreadsheet. Those users with errors in the data were not enrolled. The Admin can fix the errors and re-enroll those users.

In addition, there may be no errors in the initial upload, but in the time between initial upload and processing perhaps another admin uploaded a user with the same email address or unique id as someone in their batch. In this case, column A in the first tab of the result report will indicate if the error was email or unique ID related and which enrollee data needs to be fixed.

The batch enrollment feature is optimized for Chrome and IE9+.

View class list login credentials

Facilitators have the ability to view their classes’ login credentials so that they can easily retrieve them and remind users who have forgotten.

Facilitator logs into WIN CR System and selects User Administration and then List and Edit Users.

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 3.21.53 PM.png

Select Person Type: Student

Facilitator selects ‘Only show users in my class’ then selects one or all classes.

Facilitator selects ‘Show passwords in results’ to display passwords. Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 3.29.19 PM.png

Facilitator will then see a list of users, usernames, emails, passwords and other required user data for his/her class(es).

Routine Maintenance

The following bugs or issues were addressed in this release:

- Addressed an issue with Career Readiness Courseware and My Strategic Compass appearing dark and unreadable on mobile devices.
- Addressed calculation error in Budget Your Life tool
- Updated documentation in WIN U

Known Issues

Batch Enrollment:

On Firefox and Safari the template downloads as html rather than csv. Removing the .html file extension from the name of the file will resolve this issue.

Example:

file:///Users/JDoe/Downloads/WinCrBatchTemplate.ABCHighSchooltoStudent.08-06-2015_11-21-32-AM.csv.html
